More about Dr. K

In addition to her Master of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Iowa, Dr K. received a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from Northern Illinois University and a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of St. Augustine. She has held certifications as a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedics from the American Physical Therapy Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. 

As a clinician, Dr. K’s practice focused on the treatment of clients in outpatient orthopedic settings.  Her current concentrated area of practice is on the manual mobilization of the fascial system, a true culmination of her soft-tissue manual therapy, joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, movement analysis, and neuromuscular reeducation experience. 10 years ago she began her training in OSFM/VM through the Barral institute and discovered an exciting new way to evaluate and treat fascia with amazing results!

In her free time, Dr. K enjoys walking, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband and three adult children. 

Dr. K’s Research

Throughout her teaching career, Dr. K’s research agenda and scholarly work centered on the area of orthopedics and college athletics, contributing to the field of study as an author in nine published peer-reviewed journal articles and three book chapters. In addition, she has been a contributing author in numerous peer-reviewed research presentations at international, national and state professional conferences. 

Dr K. is currently involved in a research study evaluating the effects of organ-specific fascial mobilization on clients with chronic pelvic floor pain/dysfunction.
